Shutterless with on-board image correction

Kalix is the first uncooled smart thermal camera that delivers a clean LWIR image of the scene without resorting to a mechanical shutter. The camera features a matrix of microbolometers combined with a low-power computing core that integrates various image processing algorithms. In particular, it implements our innovative shutterless Non-Uniformity-Correction (NUC) that dynamically adapts to TFPA (Focal Plane Array) temperature changes, maintaining image clarity without the need for periodic calibration. This breakthrough ensures seamless and reliable performance in varying thermal environments.

Plug and play thermal camera

Kalix delivers a clear, and processed thermal image natively on any OS, without the need to install any program, SDK or calibration suite. The camera offers a completely “plug and play” experience, without the tedious process of memorizing reference images. Image correction is handeled on-board thanks to our FPGA based image processing engine.
We provide a MIPI CSI2 interface for integration into embedded systems, such as the NVIDIA Jetson platforms. Kalix also comes with USB3 interface for easy connection to host computers. The interface is complient with the UVC standard, allowing for seamless integration with any operating system, including Windows, Linux and MacOS. Both MIPI and USB configurations are compatible with current image aquisition frameworks such as GStreamer, FFMPEG and the OpenCV library. Kalix can easily be integrated into your existing projects.
