SMA-RTY was founded by a group of researchers with deep experience in telecommunications, applied science, and advanced network systems. What began as a research collaboration soon evolved into a shared mission to develop technologies capable of supporting institutions operating in complex, fast-changing environments.

Research is our starting point.

This foundation shapes our modular approach across 5G networks, multispectral sensing, and AI-based data processing: solutions designed to adapt to their context, not the other way around.

SMA-RTY was first established in Aubière, near Clermont-Ferrand, France. In 2020, it expanded with a hub in Milan, Italy, strengthening a collaborative framework that has grown naturally over time. Later on, a third local office has been opened in La Spezia, to further support our R&D.

SMA-RTY's vision is inspired by the principles of ubiquitous computing introduced by Mark Weiser in 1991. Since then, technology has accelerated, new paradigms have emerged, and digital ecosystems have become deeply interconnected. Yet many aspects of Weiser’s intuition remain open fields of exploration.
